ALTRIA THEATER RANKED IN TOP 25 THEATERS IN THE U.S. BY POLLSTAR IN 2022

 

(RICHMOND, VA) Altria Theater, owned by the City of Richmond and operated by ASM Global, was recently ranked within the top 25 Theaters in the United States in Pollstar’s 2022 Year-End Rankings.

 

Returning to normal operations at the end of 2021, Altria Theater finished #26 in 2022 for Top 100 Theaters in the World and as the #24 theater in the United States. For venues under 4,000 seats, Altria Theater ranks #14 in the world. Representing the state, Altria Theater ranks as the #1 theater in Virginia, selling 260,951 tickets between November 18, 2021, and November 16, 2022.

A 115-performance schedule opened with Dancing with the Stars Live in January and concluded with Disney Princess – The Concert mid-November. Highlights for the year include performances from four of the Top 200 Worldwide Tours in 2022 - Tom Segura, Bert Kreischer, Jo Koy, and Chris Rock - alongside the return of The Lion King and WICKED during the Broadway in Richmond season. Multiple music acts also took the stage in 2022, including Gladys Knight, Leon Bridges, The Head and The Heart, NEEDTOBREATHE, and Jackson Browne, amongst others.

In addition to Altria Theater, Pollstar has also ranked several other Richmond venues in their Year-End report, including the Tin Pan, ranking the #117 Top Club in the World for 2022, and Altria Theater’s sister venue Dominion Energy Center, ranking the #89 Theater in the World for 2022.
