(RICHMOND, VA) — NETworks Presentations, LLC, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and Unique Features, bring the Broadway musical ELF to Altria Theater in Richmond kicking off the 2016 -2017 Broadway In Richmond season. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 7, 2016 at 10 am for five performances Friday, December 9 to Sunday, December 11, 2016.
ELF performances begin Friday at 8 pm and continue Saturday at 2 and 8 pm and Sunday at 1:00 and 6:30 pm. Tickets will be available starting this Friday at the Altria Theater and Dominion Arts Center box offices, and online at www.BroadwayInRichmond.com. To charge tickets, call (800) 514-3849 (ETIX). Orders for groups of ten or more may be placed by calling (804) 592-3401. ADA seating tickets are available. Box office hours are Monday – Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.
ELF is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF.
Based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema hit, ELF features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer), with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone)The production will feature direction bySam Scalamoni
